Leader calls Intelligence Ministry ‘hard shell of the system’

TEHRAN – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Tuesday that the Intelligence Ministry is the “hard shell” of the Islamic Republic system that must never be vulnerable” to any wrong approach.

Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks during a meeting with Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi and other senior ministry officials.

The Intelligence Ministry is a “very important and sensitive stronghold” and “sharp eye of the Islamic system”, the Leader noted.

The Leader also highlighted the need to strengthen “spiritual aspects” in the Intelligence Ministry.

He also said any action that weakens the people’s faith is considered as a “treason”.

“Failure of the global arrogance in countering the Islamic system in spite of various plots and methods being applied since the very first day after the Islamic Revolution was not possible without support of faith,” he explained.

The Leader also said that the Intelligence Ministry should protect the principles of the Islamic Revolution, adding that distancing from the U.S. is one of the most important principles of the Islamic Revolution.

Elsewhere, the Leader said that implementation of resistance economy is the way forward to counter economic problems.

He also highlighted the importance of the Intelligence Ministry’s role in preventing and countering corruption.
